The Seattle hempfest is an annual event that advocates for the legalization of cannabis. The executive director of this festival is Vivian McPeak. She is one of the top proponents of marijuana legalization. Her mission is to provide an outlet for activists and marijuana enthusiasts to talk about the future of cannabis.
What happens at Hash Bash?
In 1994, a rogue activist named Murli Watkins organized the first HempFest, in which dozens of people tossed hand-rolled joints into the air. Watkins was later arrested and sentenced to four months in jail, but continued to advocate for the legalization of marijuana.
The event is held in three parks along the waterfront in Seattle. The North Entrance is located at Elliott Bay Park, while the South Entrance is in Olympic Sculpture Park. There is no camping, and the event is open to the public only on certain days. On Friday and Saturday, the festival is open from noon to eight p.m. and on Sunday, it is open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
The festival also has an education village. This village is made up of booths, organizations, and educational resources. While these booths and organizations do not store personal information, they do use non-necessary cookies to track user preferences. These cookies include analytics, ads, and embedded content.
